David Miller said the above words this afternoon at the “Is there Planning Law or Just City Politics?” conference.  He warned us about his “depressing” presentation, as he led us through maps and more maps of toronto transit systems that were proposed and never built.  My favorite was one from 1975 that included proposed highways (all but one was built), and transit lines that looked very different (much more expansive) then our current lines.
I tried to find the map online and couldn’t.  So above is a picture of the not-dead-yet transit city proposal.
